The parish candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation will attend a retreat on Wednesday. Please keep them, their parents and their sponsors in your prayers.

Be sure to pick up a copy of “The Word Among Us” available at the doors of the church. This Lenten issue offers not only articles and mediations for each day of the upcoming season of penitence, but also the daily Mass readings and Missal.

The “Cor Jesu Society” is a planned giving program that encourages parishioners and friends of Sacred Heart to help assure the solid financial future of the parish. Those wishing to become members of “Cor Jesu” can do so by making a gift either during their lifetime or through their estate. Further information can be obtained by contacting me at the rectory (412) 661-0187. All inquiries will, of course, be kept strictly confidential. If you have already made a bequest or
other planned gift benefiting Sacred Heart, please call so that we can thank you and enroll you in Cor Jesu.

Looking to help in the parish? New volunteers are always welcomed to assist with the parish Fish Fry that begins on Friday, February 24. Volunteers can assist at the ordering tables as well as kitchen and dining room. If you cannot make it until later in the evening, clean-up help is always appreciated. Parishioners who wish to assist can call the office at 412-661-0187 and should be agreeable to beginning the “Safe Environment” process to receive clearances required
by the diocese for volunteerism in the parish.
